Skiles and Brooks named top coaches for February

03/01/2010 - New York, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Scott Skiles of the Milwaukee Bucks and Scott Brooks from the Oklahoma City Thunder were selected as the NBA's top coaches for the month of February.

Skiles led Milwaukee to a 10-4 record in the year's second month, with the 10 wins tops in the entire Eastern Conference. Included in the run of success were six straight victories from February 19-27, as well as seven road wins -- six of those in a row from February 5-27.

Brooks led the ex-Sonics to the best winning percentage in the league (.818) with a 9-2 mark, OKC's third consecutive winning month this season. The Thunder opened the month with seven wins in a row to extend a nine-game win streak while also winning five of six road contests.

Other nominees for the award were Cleveland's Mike Brown, Orlando's Stan Van Gundy, Dallas' Rick Carlisle, Phoenix's Alvin Gentry and Utah's Jerry Sloan.
