Logano tops in Nationwide qualifying at Texas

Fort Worth, TX (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Joey Logano won Friday's qualifying for the
O'Reilly 300 Nationwide Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.
Logano posted a lap of 185.663 m.p.h. around the fast 1.5-mile oval for his
third pole of the season and the 10th of his Nationwide career.
"This is actually the first time I've been good [at Texas]," Logano said.
Clint Bowyer qualified second. Bowyer, the 2008 Nationwide champion, is
replacing John Wes Townley in the Richard Childress Racing No.21 Chevrolet for
the second race in a row. He also will take over for Townley in the car next
week at Talladega.
Logano's teammate, Kyle Busch, took the third position. Busch will attempt to
win his fifth straight Nationwide race at Texas. He has swept both races here
the last two seasons.
Roush Fenway Racing teammates Carl Edwards and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. rounded out
the top-five.
Jason Leffler will start sixth, followed by Jamie McMurray, Steve Wallace,
Paul Menard and Brian Scott.
Jason Keller, Derrike Cope, Josh Wise and Morgan Shepherd failed to qualify.
Saturday's 300-mile race is scheduled to start around 3:30 p.m. (et).
